[GOLDIN, Nan, David Wojnarowicz, Cookie Mueller, et al]. Witnesses: Against Our Vanishing.
[New York]: Artists Space, 1989

Saddle-stapled (230 x 150 mm). 32 pp. Black-and-white illustrations. In red pictorial wraps; wraps lightly rubbed. [With:] Gallery’s xeroxed letter loosely inserted. Very good.

The catalogue published in conjunction with the November 16, 1989 - January 16, 1990 exhibition held at Artists Space, organized by Nan Goldin. Included here is an introduction by Goldin, along with additional text by David Wojnarowicz, Linda Yablonsky, and Cookie Mueller.

A remarkable and mournful exhibition, the show was dedicated to the works of Lower East Side artists who had (then) survived the AIDS epidemic, featuring work by David Armstrong, Philip-Lorca DiCorcia, Jane Dickson, Peter Hujar, Greer Lankton, Kiki Smith, and David Wojnarowicz, among others. An important artifact of an art historical moment on the knife’s edge between hope and despair.
