(UNDERGROUND). Steve Cohn Serves Best Tea in Town.
[New York: Underground], 1981.
Bifold handbill (140 x 140 mm; opens to 280 x 140 mm). Offset on card. Near fine.
Handbill for “a matchless Tea Dance that strikes a hot note” at the legendary Underground. Located at 860 Bowery, in the same building as the second location of Andy Warhol’s Factory, the Underground was massive and multi-level space, owned by Maurice Brahms. It became an iconic and highly influential club in Manhattan, and Steven Cohn started “boys’ night” on Sundays, which was one of the central gay parties in the 1980s.
